Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit former concentration camp in Poland

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were planning a visit to a former concentration camp in Poland they asked if they could meet holocaust survivors who were there. Kensington Palace contacted the Holocaust Educational Trust to ask if they could help, and that’s how Ziggy Shipper and Manfred Goldberg, both 87 years old and from north London, ended up meeting William and Catherine at Stutthof concentration camp earlier this year.

We were asked to secure media coverage for HET and the survivors, so we arranged a series of interviews for them before and after the Royals’ trip. They appeared on Sky, BBC News at Six, BBC News at Ten, 6 O’Clock News on BBC Radio 4, ITV Early Evening News and ITV News at Ten.

Millions of people across the UK heard moving stories of what it was like to survive Stutthof, and how a life-long friendship helped two extraordinary men cope with the unimaginable horror of a concentration camp.
